FAE by: C.J Abedi

FAE is not your typical faery love story. There is, however a girl who finds out she's fae royalty. Here's the not so traditional part: Her soul mate, her protector is both of light and dark and at constant battle with himself. He doesn't know whether it would be better to just be true to his feeling for or push her away, in fear of an ancient prophecy. This book is truly captivating. It shows both good and bad; lovely and foul.. THERE IS NO EASY HAPPY ENDING.

The Watchers: Knight of Light by Deirdra Eden

I enjoyed the book so much I read it in a day. It's main plot is the old fashion, good protecting humanity from evil. I do like that the main character doesn't stay "afraid of her own shadow".

I know everyone has their own opinion on what fairies and pixies look like, but I didn't "see" much of a difference; they are two different species. I would have liked to see more of the fairies. That whole scene seemed a bit rushed.

I really appreciated the variety of scenery. Switching the story from one place to another kept my imagination flowing. The variety and appearances of characters was vast; I hope there will be many more new faces in the books to come.

The copy of this book I read was an ARC book. This is the review I submitted to the author. This book will be available for purchase September 1st.

Bones of Faerie by Janni Lee Simner

Bones of Faerie is intense. This book grabs your attention with the first sentence and clenches your heart with the last.

In the beginning we're told the faery came to the human world, destroying and crippling humanity with their magic. When this war was ever everything and everyone was tainted in some way. People left newborn babies outside if they even slightly looked magical.
But, that is just a sliver of this story and only one side of it.

I've read a lot of fantasy fiction books about faeries; this book puts a whole new twist on everything I thought I knew.
